Your savings federally insured to at least $250,000 and backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government. Basically if you drive a lot, your MCU *will* die within about 4 years. Tesla should be able to mostly mitigate this by pushing out a change to the syslog config. Someone needs to bring this to Elons attention so that he makes it happen!
I'm just talking about the overall sound, lack of low end. Maybe i'm spoiled from the stock BMW audio which had 2 subs in the passenger cabin (under seats) vs tesla's sub in the trunk. Audio is less of an issue but i'm a little bummed out that even with a higher VIN I received the old MCU last week : Tesla’s firmware size over the years went from a paltry 300Mb to a full 1Gb over an estimated four year period, which consumes much of the storage space in that Flash. Add on the constant vehicle log updates, and the failure rate of those chips increased exponentially. Oct 17, 2019 · Tesla Forums covered the issue back in April, with a poster noting the MCU repeatedly rebooted after 39,000 miles on their 2016 Model S. Repeated repair attempts failed to solve the issue, and they were understandably upset that they had to pay half the cost out of pocket — despite the vehicle still being under warranty.
